It was my first experience tailgating. It's pretty much a party in the car park. You take food, drinks and games and hang out until it's time to go in to the arena.
It was a big game for the Canes - they were playing the Buffalo Sabres, who are just a few points above us in the standings. If we had won, we would have overtaken them. This was a big deal because there are only a few games left before the playoffs. The top 8 make it, and we were sitting in 9th place.
The atmosphere was fantastic because it was such a big deal for both sides. I wasn't a fan of Buffalo (they played dirtier than Toronto did) but both teams played pretty terribly, and we probably deserved our loss.
A bright point - it was Stormy's (the Canes mascot) birthday! So all the mascots in the area came to celebrate with him.
